Multimedia Producer and Consultant, Shapinsky MultiMedia, 2005-Present. Work with clients, such as The Salzburg Seminar, Capitol News Connection with PRI, The National Medical Association, Howard University, WAMU Radio, and New Media Mill to develop multimedia strategies and productions. Provide assistance on editorial and technical issues; grants; timelines and budgets;  website content, appearance, and functionality;  creating partnerships; preparing and taping interviews; shooting b-roll; photographing subjects and locations; developing graphic designs, web models, and animations; digitizing, editing, and converting video/audio.

Producer, “Globalization and the World’s Poor,” WAMU 88.5 Radio and America Abroad Media, May 2005. Produced special on global poverty for public radio’s “Think Global” series, which featured major experts and journalists.  Co-hosted by Kojo Nnamdi and Garrick Utley, the series aired on 300 stations.

Executive Producer, HealthCast/kaisernetwork, Kaiser Family Foundation, 2000 - 2002. Responsible for designing, building, managing, and growing webcasting service.  Oversaw coverage of Congress, UN conferences, and other events as well as creation of an online video/audio archive.  Responsible for managing staff, editing copy, budget, writing marketing materials as well as negotiating with and managing vendors.

Investigative Producer, Writer, Reporter, ABC News, 1993 - 2000.

  • 1999-2000: Wrote regular weekly news analysis, “News this Week” while posted at World News Tonight.  Articles covered a variety of issues involving Medicare, racism, juvenile justice, China, and the Middle East.
  • 1999-2000: Developed and co-produced a variety of stories covering Congress and reported on such issues as campaign reform, health care, and the economy.  Worked directly with executive and senior producers as well as correspondents.
  • 1993-1999: Produced segments for 20/20, PrimeTime Live, World News Tonight, and Nightline.  Experience in all aspects of production and reporting, including investigative stories, working undercover, and conducting multi-camera interviews.
